Delicious turkey giblet gravy with rich pan drippings for a flavorful Thanksgiving feast.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package of giblets and neck from turkey, excluding liver
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup turkey drippings
  • 0.5 cup cold water
  • 6 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 large hard-cooked egg, chopped
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Assemble all ingredients needed for the recipe.
  • In a saucepan, place the turkey giblets, neck, and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat until the broth reduces to 3 cups, approximately 1 hour.
  • Strain the flavorful broth and set aside 1/2 cup of the giblets for later use.
  • In a saucepan, combine the strained broth and turkey drippings over medium heat. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup cold water and cornstarch until smooth. Pour the mixture into the saucepan with the broth and bring to a boil.
  • Finely chop giblets while waiting for the broth to boil.
  • Decrease heat to low and gently mix in giblets and hard-cooked egg into the gravy.
  • Thicken the gravy by simmering for about 5 minutes, then season with salt and black pepper.
