Savory ground turkey with sautéed veggies, topped with creamy mashed potatoes and baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large potatoes, peeled
  • 0.25 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • To prepare the topping, boil potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) while the potatoes cook.
  • For the filling, in a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion in olive oil until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ground turkey, mushrooms, carrot, parsley, garlic, bouillon powder, and thyme. Cook and stir until the meat is cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Mix in flour and cook for another minute. Take off the heat and set aside.
  • Complete the topping by draining the potatoes and transferring them to a bowl. Mix in the milk and butter, then mash to your preferred consistency. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the delicious filling into a deep-dish pie pan or casserole dish. Sprinkle the topping over the filling and use a fork to create beautiful swirls.
  • Bake in the oven until the topping is golden brown, approximately 30 minutes.
