Easy slow cooker whole chicken recipe for a delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 20.00 gm sweet paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2.40 gm sea salt
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1.4kg whole chicken
  • 4 large potatoes, halved (see note)
  • steamed vegetables, to serve
Instructions:
  • Mix together paprika, onion powder, garlic, salt, pepper, oil, and 2 tablespoons of cold water in a bowl.
  • Wash chicken thoroughly under cold running water, including the cavity. Pat dry with paper towel, then trim off any excess fat. Secure the legs together with string. Massage the chicken with the paprika mixture using your hands.
  • Layer the potatoes at the bottom of a 4.5 litre slow cooker, then nestle the chicken on top, breast side up. Cook covered on LOW for 6 hours or until the chicken is fully cooked. Serve alongside vegetables.
