Brown sugar, hot sauce, and lemon juice create a tantalizing marinade for irresistible baked salmon.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup hot red pepper sauce
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (2 pound) boneless salmon fillet
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Combine hot sauce, brown sugar, butter, honey, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly for 3 to 4 minutes until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Prepare the casserole dish by lightly greasing it with flavorful olive oil. Tenderize the salmon by poking holes in it using a fork before transferring it to the casserole dish. Generously pour the reserved sauce over the fish and garnish with fresh green onions. Season with a sprinkle of salt and pepper to enhance the flavors. Let it marinate for 30 minutes to infuse the delicious flavors before cooking.
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 C).
  • Roast salmon in a hot oven, without covering, until it easily flakes with a fork, approximately 25 minutes.
