Ingredients:
1cupbuttermilk
1cupvegetable oil
0.33333334326744 cupunsweetened cocoa powder
0.5 teaspoonsalt
1cuphot water
4cups confectioners' sugar
0.5 cupheavy cream
0.5 cupbutterat room temperature
0.25 cupunsweetened cocoa powder
0.25 teaspoonsalt
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare your 9x13-inch cake pan by giving it a luxurious coating of butter or oil. Enjoy the anticipation of the baking magic about to unfold!
Combine buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a bowl and whisk until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Gently mix the dry ingredients into the buttermilk mixture, then stir in hot water. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared cake pan.
