Create a delicious American classic: stuffed bell peppers with savory beef, rice, and tomato sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 6 green peppers, tops and seeds removed
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1.5 cups cooked rice
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, divided
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bring a pot of water to a boil, then simmer green bell peppers until tender, about 5 to 8 minutes. Drain well.
  • Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, using a spatula to break it into small pieces, until fully cooked and no longer pink, which should take about 7 to 10 minutes. Once done, drain off any excess grease and transfer the beef to a large bowl.
  • Mix the ground beef with rice, celery, onion, and half of the tomato sauce; season with salt and pepper. Fill the cooked green peppers with the beef mixture.
  • Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and add enough water to reach a 1-inch depth. Then, generously pour the remaining tomato sauce over the peppers.
  • Place dish in preheated oven and bake until perfectly heated through, around 30 minutes.
