French cheesy mashed potatoes with sour cream and garlic butter - decadently creamy Aligot.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons creme fraiche
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, cover the potatoes with salted water and bring to a boil. Simmer over medium-low heat until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and mash the potatoes.
  • In a skillet, gently melt butter over low heat and sauté garlic until lightly browned, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the fragrant garlic-infused butter to the mashed potatoes and mix until fully incorporated.
  • Stir in creme fraiche until fully incorporated while mashed potatoes are still hot. If they have cooled, gently reheat them on low heat. Melt cheese into the mashed potatoes and season with salt and pepper to taste.
