Irresistible whole wheat pizza dough: crispy, soft, chewy crust for all toppings!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine warm water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit until it becomes foamy, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Combine the olive oil and salt into the yeast mixture, then incorporate the whole wheat and all-purpose flours until a cohesive dough forms.
  • Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until smooth, incorporating all the remaining flour.
  • Place the dough in a bowl greased with oil, ensuring the surface is evenly coated. Cover loosely with a towel and allow it to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Transfer the dough onto a dusted surface. Split it into 2 sections for thin crusts or keep it whole for a thick crust.
  • Shape the dough into a tight ball and return it to a bowl coated with oil, ensuring the surface is also coated. Cover with a towel and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, approximately 45 minutes.
  • Prepare the pizza pan by greasing it. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until it reaches your desired size. Gently stretch the dough over your fists, expanding the edges as needed, then place it on the pan.
  • Top with a generous amount of sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings before baking.
