Enhance pork chops with apple cider and autumn herbs for a flavorful skillet meal.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried sage, divided
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 (6 ounce) pork chops
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 teaspoons honey
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Mix the brown sugar, garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of sage, rosemary, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Coat the pork chops generously with the seasoning mixture.
  • In an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and butter until butter is frothy for 1 to 2 minutes. Brown pork chops on both sides for 7 to 10 minutes. Add apple cider, remaining sage, and drizzle honey. Simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Move the skillet from the stove to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the pork chops are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) when measured with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Take the skillet out of the oven and elegantly serve the pork chops with sauce on a plate.
