Air-fried apple cider donut bites infused with apple pie spice and sparkling cider, bursting with the flavors of fall.
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons apple pie spice
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (4 ounce) container unsweetened applesauce
  • 0.5 cup sparkling apple cider
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 0.25 cup sparkling apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon caramel extract (optional)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, apple pie spice, and salt until well combined.
  • In a small bowl, mix together applesauce, sparkling apple cider, melted butter, egg, and vinegar until well combined. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients using a spatula until just mixed. Using a spring-hinged ice cream scoop, fill each cavity of the silicone donut mold with 2 tablespoons of batter. Transfer mold to the air fryer basket.
  • Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake for 8 minutes. Gently flip the donut bites and bake for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove the donut bites from the basket once they're cooked, and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack for approximately 30 minutes before applying the glaze.
  • In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and apple pie spice, whisk until blended. Stir in sparkling apple cider and caramel extract until the glaze is smooth.
  • Coat each donut bite in the glaze, ensuring all sides are fully covered. Place on a wire rack to allow the glaze to dry and set before enjoying.
