French apple yogurt dessert - tangy green apples paired with creamy yogurt.
Ingredients:
  • 3 (about 610g) Granny Smith apples
  • 1 tsp finely grated orange rind
  • 21.00 gm fresh orange juice
  • 20.00 gm caster sugar
  • 350g (1 1/3 cups) thick Greek-style natural yoghurt
  • 100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Heat the grill on high. Quarter the apples, remove the cores, and thinly slice lengthwise. Place the apples in a large frying pan with the orange rind, orange juice, and caster sugar. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples soften slightly.
  • Distribute the apple slices evenly into four 250ml (1-cup) heatproof serving bowls. Add a dollop of yogurt to each bowl and spread it evenly. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of the yogurt. Place the bowls on a baking tray and grill for 2-3 minutes until the sugar melts and caramelizes. Serve hot.
