Simmered apples and pears with vanilla extract create a luscious sauce. Perfect over warm biscuits or scones for a delightful topping.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pears, cut into chunks
  • 3 apples, cut into chunks
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add pears, apples, water, and vanilla extract. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Uncover and cook until most of the liquid is evaporated and the fruit is softened, about 10-15 more minutes.
  • Take the skillet off the heat and pour the fruit mixture along with any remaining liquid into a food processor. Blend until smooth, then mix in cinnamon. Enjoy warm or store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
