Try a fun twist on a classic with Candy Meatball and Vanilla Frosting Spaghetti Vanilla Cake - a delightful baked dessert!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25-oz.) pkg. golden vanilla cake mix with pudding
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (16-oz.) can vanilla frosting (not whipped)
  • 1/2 cup strawberry ice cream topping
  • 2 or 3 (2.25-oz.) small (1-inch) chewy chocolate candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons grated vanilla candy coating or almond bark (from 1-oz. cube)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 2 1/2-quart ovenproof glass or metal bowl. Follow directions on the cake mix box to make batter with water, oil, and eggs. Pour batter into the prepared bowl.
  • Bake the cake at 350°F for 55 to 65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the bowl on a wire rack for 30 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate. Cool for 1 hour until completely cooled.
  • Spread a thin layer of frosting on the cooled cake. Transfer the rest of the frosting into a resealable plastic bag and seal it. Cut a small hole in one corner of the bag. Pipe frosting from the bag onto the cake to give it a spaghetti-like appearance. Stir the strawberry topping to soften it and spoon it on top of the cake to mimic spaghetti sauce, allowing some to drip down the sides.
  • Unwrap the candies and soften in the microwave on HIGH for 10 to 15 seconds. Break each candy into thirds, roll into "meatballs," and place them on the cake. Sprinkle grated candy coating on top of the cake to mimic cheese.
