Authentic Mexican Hot Chocolate

Spice up your hot chocolate with sweet Mexican chocolate, cinnamon, and a hint of fiery chile de arbol for a rich and intense twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 Mexican hot chocolate drink tablet (such as Nestle® Abuelita®)
  • 1 dried red chile de arbol, lightly toasted
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk and chocolate on medium-low, stirring constantly until the chocolate melts but avoid boiling, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the chocolate mixture to a blender. Secure the lid in place using a potholder and blend until foamy. Pour into a mug. Break the chile into 2 or 3 pieces, removing the seeds, and add to the hot chocolate. Enjoy while hot.
