Irresistible bacon and onion tarts - perfect for parties and potlucks!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound minced bacon
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 3 (4 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent rolls, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Caramelize bacon, onion, dry mustard, and nutmeg in a large skillet over medium-low heat for 20 to 30 minutes. Push the bacon mixture to one side of the pan, tilt the pan to let the grease drain, discard it, and let the mixture cool for 5 to 10 minutes before using.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cooled bacon mixture with mozzarella, sour cream, and mayonnaise until you achieve a thick, paste-like consistency.
  • Take 1 can of crescent rolls from the fridge and carefully separate each triangle. Using a pizza cutter, slice each triangle into five strips by making three diagonal cuts, then halve the two longer strips.
  • Wrap each crescent dough strip around approximately 1 teaspoon of filling, stretching the dough if necessary. Don't worry if the filling pokes out at the bottom. Arrange them on a baking tray and gently flatten the tops to keep them upright. Repeat the process with the remaining cans of dough and filling.
  • Bake in the oven until beautifully golden for 15 to 20 minutes.
