Baked quince halves infused with sweet red wine and aromatic spices for a deliciously exotic dessert with a touch of home.
Ingredients:
  • 3 quince, unpeeled, washed, halved and cored
  • 18 whole cloves
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 0.5 cup port wine
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup heavy cream, whipped
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Gently insert three cloves into each quince half. Arrange the fruit cut-side down in a roasting pan, then pour in the water, wine, and add the cinnamon sticks. Sprinkle the sugar over the quince.
  • Bake the fruit in the preheated oven until lightly browned for 35 to 40 minutes. Then, flip the quince and bake until tender for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Take the pan out of the oven and allow the quince to cool for a bit. Place each quince half on a plate and top with a tablespoon of roasting juices and a dollop of whipped cream.
