Balinese-inspired spicy chicken wings with garlic, red chile pepper, and fresh turmeric - irresistibly delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 fresh red chile pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh turmeric root, peeled and minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 12 chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded
Instructions:
  • Prepare a flavorful marinade by mashing together garlic, chile pepper, shallot, turmeric, and kosher salt. Mix in brown sugar and olive oil before coating chicken wings generously. Refrigerate, covered, for a minimum of 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Toss the chicken wings in the marinade once more, then spread them out on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown in a preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes.
