Elevate your overripe bananas with a fun twist: Banana cake with whipped topping, decorations, and cherries inspired by a classic ice cream sundae.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and whole eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 cup mashed bananas (2 medium)
  • 3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting
  • Banana slices
  • Whipped topping
  • Betty Crocker™ rainbow mix decorating decors
  • Cherries
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and grease the bottom of a 13x9-inch pan. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend cake mix, water, oil, eggs, and mashed bananas on low speed for 30 seconds, then on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Fold in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 38-42 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
  • Microwave frosting in a small bowl on High for 20 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving for 5 to 10 seconds until very soft and smooth. Spread evenly over cake, garnish as desired, and store loosely covered.
