Festive Bartlett pear pie is the perfect holiday treat showcasing seasonal fruit.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (9 inch) pie crust pastry
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 5 Bartlett pears, peeled and chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), then press the pie crust pastry into a 9-inch pie dish and refrigerate before making the filling.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend together butter, white sugar, brown sugar, flour, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and cinnamon using an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then gently stir in the pears. Transfer the filling into the chilled crust.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake until the center of the filling is set, for 30 to 35 minutes. Allow to cool completely for about 1 hour before serving.
