Master homemade pizza creation.
Ingredients:
  • 7g sachet dried yeast
  • 2.50 gm caster sugar
  • 225g plain flour
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • 18.20 gm extra virgin olive oil
  • 95g tomato paste
  • 150g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 40g olive
  • 8 cherry bocconcini
  • 62.50 ml fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
  • Mix together the yeast, sugar, and 3/4 cup (185ml) warm water in a small jug. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt, then create a well in the center. Add yeast mixture and oil, and combine until a dough forms. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic, adding more flour if needed. Place dough in a large oiled bowl, cover, and let it sit in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Gently deflate dough, knead briefly until smooth. Shape into a 23cm x 30cm pizza base on a greased baking tray.
  • Preheat the oven to 240C. Spread the pizza base with rich tomato paste and layer with plump tomatoes, briny olives, and creamy bocconcini. Bake for 10 minutes or until the bocconcini is irresistibly melted. Garnish with fragrant basil leaves and slice into enticing portions before serving.
