Whip up this simple pizza dough using yeast, flour, and oils for a homemade crust that beats store-bought alternatives.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package rapid-rise yeast
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix yeast with warm water (110 degrees F/43 degrees C) until creamy foam forms, about 5 minutes.
  • Combine all-purpose flour, bread flour, sugar, and salt in the stand mixer bowl. Add canola oil, olive oil, and warm yeast mixture. Start mixing on low with the dough hook until the dough forms and pulls away from the bowl. Increase to medium-high speed and knead for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the dough to a dusted work surface and shape it into a ball. Put the dough ball in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and allow it to rise for 1 hour.
  • Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and punch down. Split dough in half and shape into two balls. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for another 45 minutes.
  • Take each dough ball and gently shape it on a floured surface into a 12-inch circular pizza crust.
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and get creative with your toppings on the pizzas.
  • Bake until beautifully golden, 18 to 24 minutes in the preheated oven.
