Ingredients:
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons lard

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 pint blueberries
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Use your fingers to incorporate the lard until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gently stir in the milk until a soft dough forms.
  • Boil water in a deep skillet, then simmer and stir in sugar until dissolved. Add blueberries, followed by dropping rounded spoonfuls of dough into the simmering blueberry syrup. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes before serving.
