Sumptuous pineapple cake soaked in creamy warm frosting for 4 hours, creating a rich, moist dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup evaporated milk
  • 9 tablespoons margarine
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Combine flour, pineapple, 1 1/2 cups sugar, oil, egg whites, baking soda, and salt in a bowl, then transfer into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 35-40 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, combine 2/3 cup sugar, evaporated milk, and margarine. Bring to a boil. In a separate bowl, stir 1/2 cup of the hot sugar mixture into the egg yolks until warmed. Stir the egg yolk mixture back into the saucepan and cook, stirring often, until reduced and thickened, for at least 7 minutes. Pour the hot mixture over the cake. Let the cake cool and set for at least 4 hours.
