Hearty chili with beef, tomatoes, and beans - ideal for cozy nights or game day gatherings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 0.5 red onion, cut into large chunks
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 4 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 (28 ounce) cans tomatoes, undrained and tomatoes chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Instructions:
  • In a Dutch oven or large soup pot over medium heat, sauté onion, celery, and garlic in vegetable oil until tender, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned and crumbly, about 5-10 minutes. Drain the grease before proceeding.
  • Combine tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper with the ground beef. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally for flavors to blend. Add kidney beans and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
