Indulgent chocolate cake swirled with blackberry jam, topped with luscious caramel frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups blackberry preserves
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a 9x13 inch pan by greasing and flouring it. In a saucepan, mix white sugar, cocoa, milk, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat until smooth and thickened. Let it cool before using.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the cooked mixture. Combine sour milk and baking soda. Alternate beating in flour and sour milk mixture. Fold in blackberry jam and pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 45 to 50 minutes. Let cool before serving.
