Delicious Boston baked beans - perfect for BBQs or breakfast!
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium brown onion, chopped
  • 4 middle bacon rashers, trimmed, cut into 3cm pieces
  • 1 large garlic clove, crushed
  • 2.50 gm smoked paprika
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 44.40 gm tomato paste
  • 110.55 gm golden syrup
  • 24.40 gm worcestershire sauce
  • 2 x 400g cans borlotti beans, drained, rinsed
  • 2 x 400g cans diced tomatoes
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Heat oil in an ovenproof dish over medium heat. Sauté onion until softened, then add bacon and garlic. Cook until bacon is browned.
  • Sprinkle in the paprika and cook, stirring, until fragrant, for about 1 minute. Add sugar, tomato paste, golden syrup, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring, until well combined, for about 3 minutes. Stir in the beans and tomatoes, then bring to a boil.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until the sauce has thickened and the beans are heated through. Serve hot.
