Hot blackberry cobbler with a beautiful crisscross lattice topping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup butter at room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons ice water
  • 4 cups blackberries
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 0.5 cup cold butter, diced
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour with salt, whisk until blended. Add softened butter and mix until the texture resembles cornmeal. Stir in ice water until dough forms. Chill in the refrigerator until needed.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the berries with 1 1/4 cups of sugar and 6 tablespoons of flour. Mix in water until everything is moistened. Transfer the mixture to a 2-quart baking dish. Roll out the dough on a floured surface until 1/4 inch thick, then cut it into 3/4-inch strips. Arrange the strips in a crisscross pattern over the berries and scatter diced butter on top.
  • Bake until the berries are tender and the crust is golden brown, approximately 30 minutes in the preheated oven.
