Sweet, spicy, tangy sauce elevates succulent beef brisket.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2-pound fresh beef brisket (not corned beef)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (16 ounces) whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
Instructions:
  • Trim the excess fat from the beef. Season the surface of the beef with a generous amount of salt and pepper. Transfer the beef into a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour them over the beef.
  • Slow cook covered on low for 8 to 10 hours until beef is tender.
  • Slice the beef thinly against the grain. Optionally, remove any fat from the cranberry sauce in the cooker and serve with the beef.
