Buddhist New Year's dish with 18 lucky ingredients for prosperity and good fortune.
Ingredients:
  • 30g dried lily buds, optional (see Notes)
  • 15g dried black fungus (wood ear or cloud ear) (see Notes)
  • 8 dried Chinese (shiitake) mushrooms, stalks discarded
  • 100g 2cm tofu puffs, halved (see Notes)
  • 36.80 gm vegetable oil
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced diagonally
  • 4 stalks Chinese (or 2 stalks regular) celery, thinly sliced diagonally (see Notes)
  • 20.00 ml finely grated ginger
  • 150g bean sprouts
  • 60ml oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions:
  • Place lily buds, black fungus, Chinese mushrooms, and tofu in individual bowls and cover with boiling water. Let soak for 30 minutes. Drain the bowls and gently press out excess water from the tofu. Cut the fungus into bite-sized pieces and halve the Chinese mushrooms.
  • 1. Heat oil in a hot wok. Quickly stir-fry carrot, celery, and ginger for 30 seconds. 2. Add soaked ingredients and the rest of the items alongside 1/4 cup water. Stir to combine. 3. Cover and cook for 3 minutes until everything is heated through. 4. Serve and enjoy!
