Buttered Polish-style kluski noodles with seasoned cabbage for a cozy, flavorful side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package kluski noodles
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 sweet onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried Italian herb seasoning
  • 1 large head cabbage, cored and finely chopped
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
Instructions:
  • - Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a lively boil. Add kluski noodles and cook until al dente, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain thoroughly and toss in a pot with 3 tablespoons of butter until noodles are well coated. Enjoy!
  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Cook and stir the sweet onion in the butter until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Blend crushed red pepper flakes and Italian seasoning into the mixture. Combine cabbage and water with the onion mixture, stirring well. Cook covered and stir occasionally until cabbage is tender and reduced by half, approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Ensure there is a small amount of liquid remaining in the pot.
  • Incorporate the buttered kluski noodles into the cabbage mixture with a gentle stir until fully combined. Enhance the buttery taste by adding 3 more tablespoons of butter, if desired. Season to taste with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
