Indulge in decadent butter pecan cake mix ice cream cones for a delightful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 3/4 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 2/3 cup candied pecan halves, chopped
  • 8 sugar-style ice cream cones with pointed ends or flat-bottom ice cream cones
  • 1 1/2 cups white candy melts or coating wafers (10 oz)
  • 8 candied pecan halves
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Follow the instructions on the cake mix box for a 13x9-inch pan, using water, oil, and eggs. Allow the cake to cool fully for about 1 hour.
  • Cover a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Break the cake into pieces in a large bowl. Mix in the frosting and 1/2 cup of the chopped candied pecans until the mixture sticks together. Form 8 balls that are 2 inches each and place them on the prepared cookie sheet. Freeze for about 30 minutes. Fill ice cream cones with the remaining cake mixture and keep them aside.
  • Microwave candy melts in a small microwavable bowl on High for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring once, until smooth. Take cake balls out of the freezer. Dip the bottom of one cake ball in the melted candy and place it on an ice cream cone, pressing gently to stick. Place in an ice cream holder or follow the foil method. Let it set. Repeat with the rest of the cake balls and cones. Once set, cover each cake ball completely with melted candy. Top each with a pecan half and the remaining chopped pecans. Allow to set before serving.
