Delicious scones, perfect with butter and jam or as a soup side.
Ingredients:
  • 300g plain flour
  • 12.00 gm baking powder
  • 54.00 gm maple syrup
  • 250ml buttermilk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C and lightly dust a baking tray with flour to prepare it.
  • Sift together the flour and baking powder in a bowl, then stir in 1 teaspoon of salt. In another bowl, mix the maple syrup and buttermilk, then pour it into the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth. Flatten into a 5cm-thick round and cut out 8 scones with an 8cm cutter. Arrange them on the tray, ensuring space between each, brush the tops with extra buttermilk, and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and puffed up.
  • Pair the scones with the carrot and maple syrup soup for a delightful combination.
