Decadent chocolate-lined ramekins filled with creamy creme brulee, topped with seasonal fresh berries. A luxurious dessert for special occasions or any day indulgence.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In each of the four 6 ounce ramekins, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals until the chocolate has melted, stirring in between. Spread the melted chocolate to coat the sides and bottom of each ramekin.
  • Bring a large pot to a roaring boil.
  • In a saucepan, combine cream, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until steaming. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and vanilla. Gradually whisk a little hot cream into the yolks, then combine with the rest of the cream. Pour the mixture into chocolate-lined ramekins.
  • Line the baking dish with a towel, nestle the filled ramekins on top. Fill the dish with boiling water halfway up the sides of the ramekins and cover loosely with foil before baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes until the custard sets. Then remove the ramekins from the dish and refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours.
  • Just before serving, generously dust each creme brulee with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Torch or broil until the sugar caramelizes, about 2 to 3 minutes in the broiler. Serve promptly.
