Create delectable imitation crab sushi at home with this simple recipe guide!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 0.5 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 sheets nori (dry seaweed)
  • 1 cucumber, sliced lengthwise
  • 2 sticks imitation crab, sliced lengthwise
Instructions:
  • Wash rice until water is clear. Cook rice with 1 1/2 cups water in a saucepan until it boils. Simmer covered on low heat until water is absorbed and rice is tender, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the cooked rice to a non-metal bowl using a wooden spoon and allow it to cool.
  • In a small saucepan, bring vinegar, sugar, and salt to a boil. Simmer for 1 minute. Gradually stir the vinegar mixture into the rice until coated, saving any extra. Let the rice cool completely for about 15 minutes before using.
  • 1. Start by laying a sheet of nori on a sushi mat with the rough side facing upwards. Have a small bowl of water within reach. Use damp hands to evenly spread a handful of rice over the nori. Arrange cucumber and crab about 1/2 inch from the edge nearest to you. Roll the sushi, beginning from the edge closest to you and rolling away. Roll once more to secure the seal. Repeat the process with the remaining nori, rice, cucumber, and crab.
  • Wet a sharp knife and cut each roll into 8 pieces, cleaning the knife after each slice to avoid sticking.
