Decadent and creamy individual flan cups, a timeless treat for any celebration.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1.75 cups water
  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.25 cup water
  • Ice
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a heavy skillet, melt sugar over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until it turns caramel-colored. Pour the melted sugar into 8 ungreased 6-ounce custard cups, tilting each cup to coat the bottom evenly.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, water, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and salt. Divide the mixture among the custard cups and place them in a large shallow pan. Fill the pan with 1 inch of hot water.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Then transfer the cups from the pan to a wire rack to cool for 1 hour before chilling for several hours or overnight.
  • To serve, gently release the flan by running a small knife along the edges; then, flip it onto plates with rims. Optional: Add a sugar garnish on top or decorate as desired.
  • To create a sugar garnish: Start by filling a medium metal bowl halfway with ice. In a medium saucepan, mix sugar and water together, then stir. Cover the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook over high heat until it turns light brown, which should take about 5 to 6 minutes. Once ready, place the saucepan onto the ice for 1 minute. Carefully drizzle the sugar in a decorative pattern over a cookie sheet lined with foil. Allow it to cool, then peel off the foil and use it as a beautiful garnish.
