Indulge in a cozy pear and caramel crumble for a delightful baked treat.
Ingredients:
  • 5 slightly ripe firm medium Bartlett pears (about 2 3/4 lb), peeled, cut into 1/2-inch slices (about 5 cups)
  • 1/2 cup caramel topping
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup cold butter or margarine
  • 16 vanilla wafer cookies, crushed (about 2/3 cup)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease an 8-inch square glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Take a large bowl and combine the pears, caramel topping, and vanilla until everything is well coated. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish.
  • Combine flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Incorporate butter using a pastry blender or two knives until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add crushed cookies and crumble mixture over pear mixture.
  • Bake without covering for 50-60 minutes until the pears are tender and the topping turns golden brown. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving warm.
