Indulgent Caramilk dumplings in caramel sauce - the ultimate cozy winter dessert!
Ingredients:
  • 150g (1 cup) self-raising flour
  • 20.00 gm custard powder
  • 50g butter, chilled, chopped
  • 70g (1/3 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
  • 100g (1/2 cup) Caramilk Baking Chips
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) milk
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • Double cream, to serve
  • 60g butter, chopped
  • 200g (1 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) bought caramel topping
  • 560ml (2 1/4 cups) cold water
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, delicately sift together the flour and custard powder. Gently work the butter into the mixture with your fingertips until it forms fine crumbs. Add the sugar and baking chips, then mix until thoroughly incorporated, creating a well in the center.
  • Combine milk and vanilla in a jug, then pour into flour mixture. Use a flat-bladed knife to mix until a soft dough forms. Lightly flour your hands, roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls, and place on a lightly oiled plate.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter with sugar, caramel topping, and water over medium heat, stirring for 2 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Bring mixture to a boil.
  • Gently place dumplings in pan and lower heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes until dumplings are fluffy and cooked. Finish with a dollop of cream and serve piping hot.
