Cardamom and saffron rice

Elevate your rice dish with a touch of vibrant saffron for added color and flavor!
Ingredients:
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) warm milk
  • 1/4 tsp saffron threads
  • 80g butter
  • 6 whole green cardamom pods
  • 2 x 7cm cinnamon sticks
  • 400g (2 cups) Basmati rice, rinsed
  • 625ml (2 1/2 cups) cold water
Instructions:
  • In a small bowl, mix the milk and saffron together. Let it sit for 1 hour to infuse.
  • Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat until foamy. Stir in cardamom and cinnamon, cook for 2 minutes until aromatic, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine rice with a saffron-infused water, season, and bring to a boil. Simmer on low for 15 minutes until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork, transfer to a serving bowl, and enjoy promptly.
