Total Time:
25 minutes
Grilled beef burgers with tangy cider-mustard barbecue sauce, topped with fresh cabbage on a bun.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef (93% lean or leaner)
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup beer
  • 0.25 cup yellow mustard
  • 0.25 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup thinly sliced cabbage
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, mix brown sugar, beer, mustard, and vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-17 minutes until the mixture thickens and reduces to half a cup. Stir occasionally.
  • Shape Ground Beef into four 1/2-inch thick patties. Grill over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until a thermometer reads 160 degrees F when inserted into the center. Toast buns cut sides down 2 minutes before the burgers are ready.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of sauce on the bottom of each bun, then place a burger on top. Sprinkle cabbage evenly on top of the burgers and drizzle the remaining sauce over the cabbage. Finally, assemble the sandwiches by closing them up.
