Indulgent chocolate fudge frosting with only 5 simple ingredients. Elevate your cakes and cupcakes above the ordinary store-bought options.
Ingredients:
  • 3 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 pound confectioners' sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Melt butter and chocolate together in a double boiler over simmering water, stirring often and scraping the sides with a spatula to prevent burning. It should be smooth in about 5 minutes. Allow to cool briefly before using.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together confectioners' sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, and vanilla. Slowly drizzle in melted chocolate mixture while mixing with an electric mixer. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup of milk until reaching the desired consistency.
  • Allow the frosting to thicken for 5 to 10 minutes before spreading.
