Indulge in creamy cashew "cheese" sauce to elevate your dishes or makes for a crave-worthy dip.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 2 cups water, or more as needed
  • 4 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons classic deli mustard (such as Grey Poupon®)
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Rinse the cashews under warm water, then soak them in hot water for 10 minutes.
  • In a blender or food processor, mix together 2 cups of water, nutritional yeast, cornstarch, and mustard until smooth. Add soaked cashews and blend until creamy. Transfer the mixture to a medium saucepan.
  • Stir sauce on low heat until thickened, about 5 to 7 minutes, whisking constantly. Adjust consistency with water if necessary. Season with black pepper to taste.
