Create your own popular spicy Asian tea at home with this recipe from Australia.
Ingredients:
  • 10 cardamom pods
  • 10 whole black peppercorns
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 750ml (3 cups) water
  • 1 7cm cinnamon stick, broken in half
  • 5 teabags (Dilmah brand)
  • 250ml (1 cup) milk
  • 40.00 gm caster sugar
Instructions:
  • Combine the cardamom pods, peppercorns, and cloves in a mortar and pestle, then crush until gently cracked.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add crushed spices, cinnamon stick, and teabags. Let it sit for 10 minutes to infuse. Stir in milk and sugar. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat. Remove from heat.
  • Strain the mixture into heatproof serving glasses using a fine sieve before serving.
