Irresistible steak sandwich with caramelized onions and aioli.
Ingredients:
  • 20g butter
  • 2 brown onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 20.00 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 8 slices ciabatta
  • 18.20 gm garlic-infused olive oil
  • 8 beef minute steaks
  • 12 small butter lettuce leaves
  • 150g aioli
Instructions:
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and garlic, sauté for 20 minutes until onion softens and lightly browns. Stir in sugar and vinegar, cook for 5 minutes until onion caramelizes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Preheat a barbecue or chargrill on high heat. Brush bread slices with oil and grill for 1-2 minutes on each side until toasted.
  • Sear steaks for 1 minute on each side until they are beautifully browned and perfectly cooked.
  • Lay out the bread slices on serving plates. Smear half of the Paul Newman's Own Whole Egg Smoked Paprika Aioli on each slice. Layer on lettuce, minute steaks, caramelized onions, and a dollop of the remaining aioli, then sandwich with the other bread slices. Serve right away.
