Impress your guests with homemade cheesy damper to accompany your roast.
Ingredients:
  • 375.00 gm self-raising flour
  • 4.00 gm baking powder
  • 250.00 ml coarsely grated cheddar
  • 1 bunch chopped fresh chives
  • 325.00 gm buttermilk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Mix together self-raising flour, baking powder, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped fresh chives in a bowl.
  • Create a hollow in the middle of the dry ingredients, pour in the buttermilk and egg, season with desired spices, and gently mix until the dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth. Shape into a disc, then place on a lined tray. Gently flatten and score into six wedges. Sprinkle flour over the top.
  • Bake until golden, then let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
