Cheesy puff pastry bites: convenient, indulgent finger food.
Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, just thawed
  • 2 slices prosciutto
  • 80g double brie, cut into 4 slices
  • 4 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 1 bunch baby asparagus or regular asparagus, halved crossways
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • Sesame seeds (black, white), to sprinkle
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 220C/200C fan forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper and divide the pastry into 4 squares.
  • Tear each slice of prosciutto in half and lay them out. Place 1 slice of brie in the middle of each. Add a few asparagus spears and a sprig of thyme on top. Wrap the prosciutto around the filling. Lay each diagonally in the middle of the pastry squares. Fold two opposite corners of the pastry into the center and press to seal, then brush with egg wash. Brush the entire pastry with egg wash before baking.
  • First, generously coat the dish with sesame seeds. Then, move the mixture to the tray. Bake for 12-15 minutes until it puffs up and turns golden. Finally, serve and enjoy.
