Enhance your winter dishes with fragrant caraway seeds - a must-have spice aisle find!
Ingredients:
  • 450g (3 cups) self-raising flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • 80g butter chilled, chopped
  • 90g(1 cup) grated cheddar
  • 2 tsp caraway seeds
  • 250ml (1 cup) milk
  • Warm butter, to serve
Instructions:
  • To enhance your scone mix: Preheat oven to 220°C and grease a baking tray. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Blend in butter until it's crumbly. Add 65g (3/4 cup) grated cheddar and 1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds. Pour in milk and gently mix with a knife until just combined.
  • Shape and bake: Combine the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Press into a 2cm thick shape, then use a 6.5cm pastry cutter to make 15 discs. Transfer to a tray, sprinkle with cheddar and caraway seeds, then bake for 15 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding. Enjoy warm with butter.
