Cheesy, spicy stuffed bread baked to gooey perfection - a tasty delight!
Ingredients:
  • 1 rustic loaf of bread, unsliced, either Italian or French
  • 12 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup (less or more to taste) chopped pickled jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions, including greens
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Make a cross-hatch pattern on the bread by slicing almost all the way through, leaving about an inch between each slice.
  • Prepare cheese mixture: In a large bowl, combine shredded cheese, green onions, and jalapeños. Drizzle with melted butter and gently mix with clean hands to evenly distribute the butter throughout the cheese.
  • Prepare the cheese-stuffed bread: Lay the bread on a generous piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet. Fill every nook and cranny with the cheese mixture, then tightly wrap the bread in the foil. Refrigerate if making ahead, ready to bake later.
  • Bake: Bake in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes. Remove foil from the bread and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted. Serve on a board or plate.
