Red wine braised cabbage with caraway seeds - a vibrant, flavorful and simple side dish perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small head red cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
  • salt to taste
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water
  • 0.25 cup red wine
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 pinch caraway seeds
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Add cabbage and cook until it starts to soften, about 1 to 2 minutes. Season with salt, then add water, red wine, red wine vinegar, sugar, and caraway seeds. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook and stir until the liquid has evaporated and the cabbage is tender, approximately 5 minutes. If needed, add a splash of water and continue cooking for a few more minutes until the cabbage reaches desired tenderness.
