Ingredients:
  • 1 large russet potato, cut into evenly sized strips
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying, or as needed
  • salt to taste
Instructions:
  • Submerge potato strips in a generous amount of water and let sit for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Dry completely by gently pressing with paper towels.
  • Preheat oil to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C. Carefully add potatoes to the hot oil and fry for approximately 5 minutes, flipping and stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer the potatoes to a paper towel-lined plate using a slotted spoon, and allow them to cool completely.
  • Reheat oil to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C and fry potatoes for another 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown.
