Delicious versatile rolls loved by all and great for leftover sandwiches.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup warm milk
  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, melted, divided
  • 4.5 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed
Instructions:
  • In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer, blend warm milk, warm water, and dry yeast. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes. Incorporate eggs, sugar, salt, and 1/2 cup melted butter, whisking all wet ingredients together. Mix in all-purpose flour and knead with the dough hook (or by hand) until a smooth dough ball forms, about 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Transfer the dough into a bowl greased with a hint of butter, cover, and allow it to rise until doubled in size, approximately 2 hours.
  • Flatten the dough, then divide it into 24 equal portions and shape each into a smooth ball.
  • Prepare a baking sheet with a Silpat mat or parchment paper.
  • Place each ball of dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out into a 4 to 5-inch long oval shape. Brush the top with some of the remaining butter, then fold it in half.
  • Place the rolls onto the baking sheet, arranging them in 6 rows of 4. Cover with a kitchen towel and allow them to rise in a warm spot until almost doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake rolls in the oven until beautifully golden brown, approximately 25 minutes.
  • Brush the warm rolls with melted butter to add a delicious finishing touch.
